On Wednesday, at 08.00 WIB, the Constitutional Court will hold the first hearing to address the dispute over the presidential and vice-presidential election in the main courtroom of Building I Constitutional Court, Jakarta. The Constitutional Court is providing an opportunity for the legal team of presidential and vice-presidential candidate pair number 1, Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar (Amin), to express their objections to the General Election Commission's decision regarding the Determination of the 2024 Election Results.
At 13.00, the Constitutional Court will continue the hearing by listening to the request for the annulment of the decision KPU that declared the candidate pair number 2, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, as the winner, from the legal team of candidate pair number 3, Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD.

Anies-Muhaimin to Attend the First Hearing at the Constitutional Court
The discussions also involved Anies and Muhaimin in preparing the opening remarks for the trial. This is important because the Constitutional Court provides 10 minutes for the main parties to read the opening statement of the lawsuit directly. Anies-Muhaimin are planned to attend in person to read their opening statements.
"Anies and Muhaimin will attend in person to read their opening statement,” he said when contacted from Jakarta, Tuesday (26/3/2024).
Ari explained that the legal team has divided tasks among its members due to restrictions. A total of 12 members of the legal team will be in the courtroom in accordance with the maximum limit set by the Constitutional Court. Other members will be responsible for preparing the necessary materials. Meanwhile, legal team members who are out of town will participate online.
The 90 minutes given by the Constitutional Court to submit the application is considered quite limited. Therefore, the team will compile presentation points to be presented during the trial. This step is taken so that all important points can be clearly expressed and can convince the panel of judges.
Ari expressed his belief that the constitutional judges will handle this case objectively for the sake of the country and to maintain the integrity of the constitution.
Ari is optimistic that the lawsuit filed by Anies-Muhaimin will be accepted by the Constitutional Court. The legal team has prepared the lawsuit materials for more than a month and is supported by strong written evidence and witnesses, which indicate alleged fraud committed by the Prabowo-Gibran pair.
"We believe that the constitutional judges will objectively handle this case in the interest of the nation and to save the constitution," he said.
Mochammad Afifuddin, a member of the KPU, stated that his party is preparing answers, evidence, and strategies to face the petitions submitted by Anies-Muhaimin and Ganjar-Mahfud. The KPU is also coordinating all levels of the KPU at the provincial and regency/city levels to prepare answers and evidence that may be needed. In addition, the KPU has appointed the law firm Hicon Law and Policy Strategies as legal counsel in the Election Result Dispute (PHPU) of the presidential election.
