Jakarta, LiterasHukumCom - The Plaintiff, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Subhan, expressed his objection because the General Election Commission (KPU) allegedly changed the "last education" information on Gibran's resume portal to "S1." He conveyed this objection during the trial of the alleged unlawful act case at the Central Jakarta District Court on Monday, September 22, 2025.
Objection: Changes to Education Data on the KPU Portal
Subhan assessed that the KPU (Defendant II) changed the evidence after the lawsuit was filed. During the proceedings, he based his posita on the initial appearance of the KPU portal, which stated "last education" without details of the level. Now, according to him, the column has been changed to "S1."
Panel Establishes Mediation
Chairman of the panel Budi Prayitno emphasized that the case process is proceeding to the mediation stage and appointed Sunoto as the mediating judge. The parties were asked to sign a statement form, while the plaintiff's objection was noted for further processing.
Plaintiff's Reason: Construction of Lawsuit Based on Initial Data
Outside the trial, Subhan explained that the construction of his lawsuit was based on initial data on the KPU portal. He claimed to have only realized the change on Friday, September 19, 2025. Even so, he will not change the lawsuit and asks the court to consider the objection.
Subject Matter and Demands
Gibran is sued for committing an unlawful act because he is considered not to have met the educational requirements when running for vice president. In the petitum, the plaintiff asks the panel to declare Gibran and the KPU to have committed an unlawful act and to cancel the validity of Gibran's position as Vice President for 2024–2029.
The plaintiff also requested that the defendants be jointly and severally punished to pay material and immaterial losses of Rp125 trillion, which will be deposited into the state treasury. He also requested that the decision be carried out in advance (uitvoerbaar bij voorraad) and impose a coercive fine (dwangsom) of Rp100 million per day if the decision is not implemented immediately.
