Jakarta, Literasihukum.com – The Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) Headquarters has officially revealed the identity of the retired TNI officer's body found floating in the waters of Marunda, North Jakarta, on Friday, January 10, 2025. According to the Head of the TNI Information Center (Kapuspen), Major General TNI Hariyanto, the body belongs to Brigadier General TNI (Ret.) Hendra Hendrawan Ostevan (75).
“The body of Brigadier General TNI (Ret.) Hendra Hendrawan Ostevan was found at the PT. KCN Marunda Pier, North Jakarta, on Friday, January 10, 2025,” said Hariyanto, Tuesday (1/14/2025) evening.

Chronology of the Body's Discovery

Based on information from the Kapuspen TNI, the discovery of the body began with CCTV monitoring around the scene. The recording shows that the vehicle driven by Brigadier General TNI (Ret.) Hendra Hendrawan Ostevan entered the pier area on Thursday, January 9, 2025, in the early morning.
“Based on CCTV monitoring, the victim's vehicle appeared to enter the pier on Thursday early morning, while the cause of the incident is still under further analysis,” explained Hariyanto.
He also emphasized that Hendra Hendrawan Ostevan had not been active in the TNI environment for a long time, considering his age of 75 years.
“The person concerned is a Retired TNI officer and has long left military service,” he continued.

Discovery by Fishermen

Previously, a fisherman with the initials RA (27) found a male body floating in the waters of Marunda Port and immediately reported it to Bripka AM, an officer who was patrolling at the Marunda Patrol Unit Headquarters.
“Reporting that a male corpse was found floating in the waters of Marunda Port,” said Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi, in his statement, Tuesday (1/14/2025).
Following up on the report, Bripka AM immediately went to the crime scene (TKP) and found the body wearing a collared shirt and black jeans. In addition, officers also found a black wallet containing identification leading to Hendra Hendrawan Ostevan.

Evacuation Process and Further Investigation

A joint team immediately evacuated the body to the AAJ Marunda pier, before being taken to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) Jakarta for further examination (visum).
“Furthermore, the corpse was evacuated to the AAJ Marunda pier, and the Gakkum Sub-Directorate picket took it to RSCM Jakarta for a visum,” added Ade Ary.
Until this news was released, the exact cause of death of Brigadier General TNI (Ret.) Hendra Hendrawan Ostevan is still under investigation. There has been no further information regarding whether the TNI Headquarters will continue to oversee the case or fully hand over the investigation process to the police.
