The National Police's Professional and Internal Security Division intervened, sanctions could lead to dishonorable discharge
Head of the NTT Regional Police Propam Division AKBP Muhammad Andra Wardhana stated that an initial investigation had been conducted on six personnel allegedly involved, namely AKP HSB, Ipda BB, Aipda OT, Brigpol AI, Briptu LBM, and Bripda JG. A number of pieces of evidence, including those related to the alleged flow of funds, have also been secured to investigate the construction of the case internally.
To maintain the objectivity of the handling, Adriyanto Tedjo Baskoro was deactivated from his position as Director of Drug Investigation of the NTT Regional Police and is now undergoing further examination at the National Police's Professional and Internal Security Division (Divpropam). The NTT Regional Police also stated that they will hold a special case hearing with the National Police's Divpropam to determine the legal and ethical status of the parties allegedly involved.
Normatively, the ethics examination refers to Regulation of the Indonesian National Police Number 7 of 2022 concerning the Code of Ethics for the Profession and the Police Code of Ethics Commission. This regulation serves as a guideline for the behavior of members of the National Police in carrying out their duties, and within this ethics regime, administrative sanctions are available, ranging from demotion to Dishonorable Discharge for serious violations.
Therefore, this case not only concerns the fate of the position of a middle-ranking officer, but also touches on a larger issue, namely public trust in the integrity of handling narcotics and illegal drug cases. If the alleged extortion is proven, this case will be another example of how abuse of authority by officials can undermine law enforcement from within.
The NTT Regional Police affirm their commitment to take firm action against any violations committed by members. The message to be conveyed is clear: internal improvements must not stop at slogans, but must be realized through transparent, accountable, and impartial investigations.
